Failed safety valve

The valve only opens when the igniter signals it's safe. When the valve itself fails, no gas reaches the burner even with a good igniter.

Bad spark module or wiring

On spark-ignition ranges, a failed module or a loose wire means the burner clicks but never sparks a flame.
