Oven & stove repair

Oven with no power in Philadelphia.

An oven that is completely dead, or where the clock works and the oven will not heat, usually has a failed control board, a blown fuse, or has lost one of its two legs of power at the breaker. I find which one it is and fix it same-week across Philadelphia and the Main Line.

Why it happens

Why your oven has no power.

The usual culprits, in plain words. I confirm which one it is before quoting anything.
01

Control board

The board runs the display and the relays. When it fails you often get a dead panel, or a panel that lights while nothing heats.
02

Half power at the breaker

An electric range needs both legs of a 240V supply. Lose one and you get lights and clock with no heat, which sends people shopping for a new oven they do not need.
03

Internal fuse or burnt terminal

A blown fuse or a burnt connection at the block will kill the oven while the rest of the kitchen works normally.

How much does it cost to fix a oven that has no power?

Every visit starts with a flat $89 diagnostic, and that $89 is applied to the repair. Most repairs of this kind start from $310, including parts, and every job is backed 90 days. If it is not worth fixing, I tell you that instead of selling you a repair.

The clock works but the oven will not heat.
Classic half-power. Before anything else I check both legs at the breaker, and sometimes that is the whole visit.
Everything is dead, including the clock.
Breaker, outlet or the board. It needs a meter to separate them, and guessing here gets expensive fast.
Is a control board worth replacing?
Sometimes not, and on an older range I will tell you plainly when a new appliance is the better spend.
